A Successful Surgery !

I just want everyone to know that Andrew’s surgery went well.  He had the blockage in his urethra removed and the PD CATH placed.  It’s hard to describe, but basically he has like a 6 inch catheter tube hanging from the right side of his belly. I’ll try and take some pictures of it.   Right now we just need him to rest and heal.  His penis is really swollen, but should be better by Monday, which is also the day Josh and I are going to learn how to insert his catheters, oh joy !   I’m not sure how long it will take him to heal from his abdominal surgery … having the PD CATH inserted is suppose to be really painful , so Andrew will be receiving morphine every 4 hours for the next few days along with a few other medications for pain and one to help him sleep.

As much as it sucks to watch our little guy in pain, we feel really relived to have this part be over.  Having these surgerys just looming over us was REALLY stressful.  Now it feels like we can move on to the next step, whatever it is, and hopefully get a little closer to going home …

I’m so glad to hear that Andrew’s surgery went well!

And that there’s a chance Andrew will be able to come home before Christmas, that is wonderful news.

Good luck the next couple of days as Andrew recovers. We’ll be thinking of you guys.

Okay so Isabelle just ran in the room and said “tell Emma Hopscotch” so Emma “Hopscotch”.

I’m not sure how I missed these last two posts…they only just showed up in my reader. I was so glad to hear that everything went well. And I completely understand the relief of getting through one of the hurdles and moving on to the next. Sounds like you’re all doing the best that you can – and we’ll continue to keep you in our thoughts/prayers.

I agree. Now you can put this past you and move on to the next step. You guys are doing awesome and I’m SO HAPPY that he had a successful surgery. That’s GREAT news! I hate that you’re little guy is in pain but it’ll all be worth it later on.

Love ya!

Andrew sure is a strong boy, and so are his parents. A big hug n a kiss from all of us here. We love you- and Landon gives Emma a BIG hug. XXOO Jillian

So glad to hear he came through the surgery okay. Have been thinking about you both a lot the past few days. Hopefully you will be able to take him home sooner rather then later.

He is just adorable with his new mohawk!!! Hannah I’m so very proud of you. This is so tough and you have been such a rock. We love you and are thinking of the four of you constantly! Kisses and hugs to Emma and Andrew and that cute hubby, Josh! :)

I have a three month old baby girl with Esophageal Atresia (her esophagus isn’t connected to her stomach) She is doing great and are hoping to fix it next week but wondering if you know of people with this condition too. This condition was not on any of your links. Trying to find some other parents to get a hold of and get some information about this condition. Glad to hear that your little one is doing good.
